India-China Relationship :
India and China had historically peaceful relationship for thousands of years of recorded history. Both countries have a bilateral relationship, cultural and economic relations between China and India date back to ancient times. India and China have characterized by border disputes, they have three military conflicts, the Sino-Indian war of 1962, and the border clashes in Sikkim in 1967 and sumdorong chu standoff in 1987. The late 1980's both countries rebuild diplomatic and economic ties successfully. In 2008, china become India's largest trading partner, both the countries have extended their military relations.

China and India are the two emerging economies in the world. The economic growth of the countries are measured by GDP. GDP stands for Gross Domestic Product, it is most commonly used to estimate the economical growth of the countries. Both India and China was almost equal in 1987, GDP. In 2019 china is 2nd and India is 5th largest country in the world. On ppp(on public-private partnership) china is at 1st place and India is at 3rd place. India and China together share 19.46% and 27.18% of total global wealth. On 1990's India is economically stronger than china but in 2019 china beats India, the china gdp is 4.78 times greater than India. China and India together contribute half of the overall population.

The two most populous countries in the world is India and China. China is the most populous country in the world and India is the second largest country in the world. China population is about 1.44 billion people and in India 1.38 billion in 2020. China and India together shares about 36% from the total world population and 67% of Asia's population.
As of 2020, population of china is 59 million more than in India. In 1965-70 China has higher fertility rate. India will surpass china due to lower fertility rate of china. On the period of 2015-20 India's fertility rate is high compared to china.
India vs China Post-covid :
Pandemic has hit the growth of the countries across the world. India and China has two different economic outcomes post pandemic. India became the fifth largest country in the world after overtaken the UK in 2019. Unfortunately India became sixth place in 2020 because of pandemic crises, now India is pushed back by five years, India expected to reclaim its fifth largest economy place only in 2024.
On the other hand the China recovered it's economic from the COVID-19 it had advanced by five years. The pandemic will create a further 10years gap between India and China in terms of their per GDP incomes.
Conclusion :
India and China have a bilateral relationship, the relationship cannot progress unless there is peace on the borders. China will overcome their pandemic crises but Indian economy struggling towards recovery. The report said, the pandemic hit hardly the growth of India, in 2020 the growth rate is 7% and expected to grow 7.2% in 2021.
India experiencing slow recovery caused by the second wave of COVID and gradually moving in to a post COVID dispensation. Indian government initiatives fiscal and social measures have worked to the advantage of the economy in combating the slowdown.
Hopefully, India will overcome this pandemic crises and reach its economic growth from the expected years.
